a little about me
I’m Greg Haddow, I have always been a creative person and enjoy expressing myself visually, I love to be challenged and have an aptitude at problem solving. For me the internet has proven to provide the perfect merger of these things, a free and infinite canvas where anyone can express themselves and reach out to the whole world whilst embracing new technology and techniques.
Studying Computing and Art at school started me on the journey that turned a hobby and talent, into a career. I graduated from the University of Kent with a Degree in Computer Science. From there I went to work at an independent college, a creative environment that prides its self on allowing the students, and staff to express their individuality. There I had the opportunity to continue to develop my skills as a programmer and as a graphic designer, both on and off the web; whilst administering all their IT systems and providing technical support to staff and students alike. I also had the opportunity to pass on some of this knowledge by teaching some of the students.
My desire to focus my career more on website design and development lead me to my current position as Webmaster of Canterbury Cathedral, the famous world heritage site, where I am responsible for maintaining and developing the Cathedral’s and its associated sister sites (The Lodge Hotel, The Shop, Stained Glass Studio, The Canterbury Gift etc…), and I am actively involved in our branding and production of both digital and printed media. Keep an eye out for new designs coming soon.
Ever eager for a challenge, and new experiences, I continue to also provide my services as a freelance web designer, programmer, graphic artist, and general computer technician. I enjoy working closely with clients to achieve their goals, creating sites tailored to their wants and needs, which look great and work seamlessly.
